Apple OS updates to be released September 16
It’s become an annual ritual, as Apple typical releases its latest major updates to its slate of operating systems each September. This year is no different, as the technology company has announced September 16 as release day for its newest versions of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.
Users of iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers typically jump onboard, anxious to try out the new features.
Are you the type of person who updates immediately? Typically the software be ones available around 1 p.m. EST.
Or do you wait a few days to hear his updating goes for others?
I’ll admit I’m typically in the first camp. I take the plunge as I want to see what the newest features and changes are like.
Typically when the major OS updates are released, OS updates for other Apple devices, such as the HomePod and Apple TV, are also made available.
Probably the new feature I’m most happy to see is the dedicated password app. It’s been irritating to have this tool buried with the OS settings, and I think having it operate discreetly will be a big plus.
Another new feature that I think is cool is the ability to lock or even hide specific apps. This will be helpful to those who share a device, so your brother can’t check out your dating profile 😜
What feature are you most excited about?
For those looking forward to Apple’s implantation of AI, you’ll have to wait a bit longer, as that will be coming in a later update this fall. The company calls their AI Apple Intelligence, claiming it will run primarily on your device to ensure privacy. Of note, the feature will only work on M-series iPads and Macs, along with the latest, most powerful iPhones.
In the meantime, here’s a vintage Apple ad.
